1.1 What is the advantage of renting an apartment?

All of our apartments are centrally located and offer you the chance to experience Paris and London like a true local. Our handpicked apartments are surrounded by Parisian cafés and bistros and are only a few steps from the major sites including Notre Dame, La Tour Eiffel and the Musée du Louvre. Our London homes are a stone’s throw away from the city’s best attractions and restaurants. One of the largest benefits of renting an apartment is the price as our apartments offer a better value for your money with the additional benefits of space, flexibility and privacy.

Our apartments come with fully equipped kitchens, allowing you the possibility of cooking a meal at home when you don’t quite feel like dining out in a local restaurant. Whilst dining out for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be a treat, having the option to use our fully furbished kitchen gives you the freedom to eat when you like at a fraction of the cost.

1.2 Where are our apartments located?

Every flat of has at least one factor in common – centrality. In Paris, our apartments are located in the most central quarters of Paris, namely between the1st – 7th Arrondissements. Our London properties are all centrally located in the city’s best neighborhoods including South Kensington, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street and Soho. Every apartment rental is accessible through a secure, coded door and you are provided with your own key for the apartment.

2.1 Are the apartments serviced?

Our apartments are not serviced. For an additional cost however, we can arrange to have an additional cleaning during your stay. This will include full cleaning, linen and towel change and stock replenishment. Please contact us for more information on rates and availability.

Renting a vacation apartment in Paris or London has many positive benefits as mentioned above, however you need to be aware that renting an apartment in Paris or London is not like renting hotel, or an apartment hotel. Rather you will be renting a true home allowing you to live like a local. There will be no front desk or concierge and any extra services you require will need to be thought out ahead of time and booked before you travel.

2.2 What amenities are included in the apartments?

Our apartments are fully furnished. Linens and towels are supplied in every apartment for the maximum number of guests the flat can accommodate. Each apartment also has large screen TV with cable and a fully equipped kitchen. If, when you arrive at the apartment, you find anything missing, please contact us and we will replace anything you consider to be missing as soon as we can.

You will be provided with starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels to begin your stay along with fresh dishcloths, sponges and soap for washing-up. A hair dryer is also provided in every flat. Every apartment has heating throughout and the cost is included in the rent. If you wish to be provided with any additional items for the duration of your stay, please contact us to arrange this in advance of your stay.

2.3 Do the apartments have a Wifi Internet connection?

Yes! A fast and free WiFi internet connection is availabile in all of our apartments. We do not however provide a computer or tablet so you will therefore need to bring your own device in order to connect to the free Wifi.

2.4 Does the apartment have air-conditioning?

Unfortunately our central apartments do not have air-conditioning. Air-conditioning is very uncommon in Paris and London and tends only to be found in the larger hotels. Should the weather prove to be too warm during your visit, a fan can be provided.

2.5 Is there an elevator in the apartment building?

Many of our apartments are accessible by elevator. Whilst we advertise whether or not the apartment building has an elevator, we advise that you double check before your booking if it is likely to affect your stay. We do not offer refunds if on arrival you discover there is no elevator.

2.6 What if the advert says the apartment can sleep four, and we are 2 couples and a baby?

We cannot exceed the capacity stated in the advertisement. Unfortunately, even if your party will exceed the capacity by 1, even if it is a baby, we cannot accept your booking for that apartment. We are required by the owners to comply with a maximum number of guests and any infringements of this request, would result in us being unable to rent the apartment in the future. If you are found to be exceeding the maximum guest capacity, we will not hesitate to retain the damage deposit and will ask you to leave the apartment. Please be sure to reserve an apartment that can accommodate your entire group.

2.7 Is it possible to travel with a pet?

All of our apartments are pet-free apartments. To respect our guests and those who may suffer from allergies, we cannot unfortunately welcome any furry friends in our apartments.

2.8 Is smoking permitted in the apartment or on the balcony?

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all of our apartments. We do not permit smoking inside any of our apartments, nor on the balconies or terraces of our flats that have such amenities. If there is any indication that guests have been smoking in the apartment, we will be required to retain the damage deposit.

3.1 What are our payment options?

To secure a reservation, choose the apartment you like, confirm its availability and proceed to enter your payment details and arrival information. Please note: bookings are taken on a first paid, first booked basis. All offers are subject to apartment availability at the time of down payment.

3.2 Are there any ‘hidden costs’ in the quote provided?

No. The quote we provide is the total rental cost including cleaning fees and taxes for the dates you request. There are no additional service fees or hidden charges.  If you require any additional services, such as a late check-in or groceries on arrival, these will be charged in addition and can be added to the total bill.

3.3 Is there a damage deposit to pay?

Yes, we require a refundable damage deposit for all of our apartments. Depending on the apartment, the damage deposit can range from 200€ – 400€ (£200-£400 in London), we will advise you as to the correct amount dependent on the apartment you choose to rent. This deposit is refunded 14 days after the departure date.

3.4 What time can we check-in to the apartment?

Our check-in appointments start from 3:00PM. This gives our cleaning company time to fully prepare the apartment between the departure of one guest and the arrival of the next. We do understand that you may come in on an early flight, or want to leave the apartment a little later, and we will do everything possible to accommodate all parties as best we can.

If your flight is arriving early in the morning, we suggest that you also book the apartment for the night before so that you can check-in on arrival at your convenience.

Regarding late check-ins (after 7:00PM): please remember that you are booking an apartment, not a hotel room. We try to be as accommodating as possible. However, in the instance that you arrive between 7:00PM and 9:00PM there will be a 30€ late check-in fee, if you arrive even later, between 9:00PM and 11:00PM the check-in fee will be 50€. If you arrive after 11:00PM the check-in fee will be 80€, and after 1:00AM the check-in fee will be 100€. The late check-in fee in London is equivalent but in £ (GBP).

3.5 How do I arrange key pick-up?

You will need to make a check-in appointment with us in advance as there is no reception in the building. A member of our Welcoming Team will wait for you in front of the building, present you the apartment and hand over the key. All the necessary information for check-in is provided in the confirmation email that is sent after the down payment is received.

3.6 What time can we check-out of the apartment?

Our check-out time is by 10:00AM. Normally we cannot make late check-outs as we need to clean and prepare the apartment for the following guests arriving however there may be some flexibility depending on the arrival time of the next guest. If you require a very late check-out, you can book the apartment for the following night so that you can check-out at your convenience.

3.8 What if the apartment you want is unavailable across the dates you wish to stay?

If one apartment is not available for the whole duration of the dates you would like to stay, it is likely that we have another great, central apartment available for the dates you need. If this is the case, send us a request and we can see what else we have available.

3.9 What are our rates?

Our rates depend on the season and length of stay, so in order to get the best quote for your stay, send us an inquiry.

3.10 What to do with luggage before check-in and after check-out?

As we do not have a physical reception, we are not able to store luggage for you prior to your check-in time or after you check-out. Your luggage can be stored at some of the main train stations or at Paris City Locker. In London, your luggage can be left at any location of Left Luggage London. You will need to make separate arrangements in relation to this accordingly.

4.1 What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel the apartment any time before 60 days before of the date of check-in and your deposit will be refunded. If you cancel any time within 60 days before your check-in date then unfortunately the deposit cannot be refunded as upon confirmation of your booking we reject all further inquiries for the apartment that conflict with your reserved dates, and then base all of our other bookings for the apartment around those dates. It therefore makes it very difficult to re-book the apartment once cancelled.

Please note: for cancellations made before 60 days of the date of check-in there is a 10% management fee payable of the total of the booking fee.

4.2 What if I decide to leave the apartment early due to personal circumstances?

There are no refunds for early departure. Unfortunately, even if you have to leave the apartment for circumstances beyond your control, we are unable to offer you a refund. We advise that you take out travel insurance prior to departure that covers eventualities such as early departures.

4.3 Why was my reservation refused even though the dates are available?

All bookings through the ParisAndLondonApartments website are subject to management approval. Likely reasons for booking rejections include; leaving gaps at each end of the reservation, minimum stay requirement not met, apartment no longer available, etc. Should your booking be rejected, you will be provided a full refund and suggested an alternative apartment if available.

5.1 What is the best way to travel to and from the airport to Central Paris and how long does it take?

You will most likely arrive at one of the two international airports that serve Paris. Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is located 23km (16 miles) north-east of Paris, and the smaller Orly Airport (ORY) airport is slightly closer to the city and located 13km (8 miles) to the south.

5.11 The Paris Metro:

The metro is a great way to travel around Paris and is also very friendly on the wallet! You can plan your route to reach the apartment using the French public transport website, accessible through the following link RATP. This allows you to tailor make your own itinerary.

5.12 Taxi – Charles de Gaulle:

Alternatively, you can take a taxi. These tend to cost between 65-80€ but the price can vary. If you are travelling with luggage, there will be an additional fee per bag of about 1.50€.

Travel time to Charles de Gaulle airport to the center of Paris should take approximately 40 minutes. We recommend allowing 2 hours from the plane landing to reaching the apartment. This includes airport security and baggage collection but travel time can vary and it could be up to 50% longer or more depending on the time of day, traffic and your exact location.

5.13 Taxi – Orly:

Taxis will end to cost between 40€-50€ but the price will vary depending on your location within central Paris.

To reach Paris from Orly airport takes approximately 30 minutes, but travel time can vary and it could be up to 50% longer or more depending on the time of day, traffic and your exact location.

5.14 Shuttle Bus:

Paris Airport Shuttle services are available between the city center and both Charles de Gaulle and Orly. Reservations can be made days, weeks or months in advance, but they must generally be made at least 48 hours in advance. When arriving at the airport you must call a special toll free number (before picking up your baggage) and you will be given a meeting point at your terminal. Once the shuttle arrives it will generally complete its circuit of the terminals to pick up other passengers (as the bus does) then it will drop you off at your final destination in Paris. For departures you will be given a pickup time that will guarantee your arrival at the airport the required amount of time before your departure. Price (inside of Paris city limits) : 22.50€/person for 1 person, 18€/person for 2, 17€/person for 3 or more.

6.1 What is the best way to travel to and from the airport to Central London and how long does it take?

You will most likely arrive at one of the two international airports that serve London. London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is located 32km (20 miles) to the west of central London. London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is located 48km (28 miles) to the south of London). Stansted Airport (STN) is located 64km (40 miles) to the north-east of London.

6.11 The London Underground is a great way to travel around London and is also very friendly on the wallet! You can plan your route to reach the apartment using the Transport for London (TFL) website. This allows you to tailor make your own itinerary.

6.12 Taxi – Heathrow:

Alternatively, you can take a taxi. These tend to cost between £45 and £70 but the price can vary. If you are travelling with luggage, there will likely be an additional fee per bag. Travel time from London Heathrow airport to the center of London should take approximately one hour. We recommend allowing at least 2 hours from the time your plane lands to reach the apartment. This includes customs and immigration and baggage collection but travel time can vary and it could be up to 50% longer or more depending on the time of day, traffic and your exact location.

6.13 Taxi – Gatwick:

Taxi costs will vary and you should ask your driver before beginning your journey for a price estimate.

6.14 Shuttle Bus and Train:

You can also reach the London city centre by shuttle bus or train. Visit the Transport for London website for more information.

7.1 Is there private car parking available outside the apartments?

Unfortunately there is no private parking available outside the apartments.

For many of our apartments, there is on street parking available, but this is on a pay and display basis and availability cannot be guaranteed. The website Parking de Paris gives you information about the closest underground parking to your Paris apartment, the opening hours and fees.

The website Visit London gives you more information concerning parking your vehicle in London.

Keep in mind that public transport is one of the easiest ways to navigate your way around Paris and London.
